Last weekend “Les métiers du patrimoine, des hommes et des femmes au service des biens culturels” (The professions concerning patrimony and those of men and women who work for cultural causes) were in the limelight.
It was an opportunity to enhance the value of all the professions responsible for the development of Réunion Island’s cultural heritage. There were about sixty establishments in Réunion Island that opened their doors to the public. Why not head towards the eco museum of “Au Bon Roi Louis” in Saint-Philippe to discover a wide range of antique objects and other official records from the 18th century. Afterwards, one can stop off at the salt museum in Saint Leu, which has just reopened its doors. The salt-works operate afresh and the workers would be delighted to share their know-how with you.
