| Some lakes (bassins) and waterfalls such as “Langevin” river are accessible within minutes. Remote or not, these wild and natural spots promise memorable moments. The crystalline turquoise water reminds us of an idyllic postal card. |
Access: drive to Sainte-Rose. After the petrol station, turn left, and the bassin bleu is just below you. You can swim all the year round, but note that it is crowded at weekends.
Access: drive through Saint-Joseph and just after the town, you’ll spot the ruins of an ancient weighing machine which is the starting point for a spectacular road bordered with fruit trees. The valley bed stretches on for ten kilometers along which you can contemplate the magnificent waterfall of “Grande Ravine.” Next to the sign, “Trou Noir,” is a path leading to a splendid lake (bassin) with waterfalls.
Access: before Sainte-Suzanne’s exit, take the right, after the bus stop, (just before the bridge). Signs indicate the way. Drive for more than two kilometers on a narrow concrete road, leading to a caldera from which a springs a splendid waterfall around ten meters.
