Just like its sister in the North, the science and technology park in Terre Sainte is aimed to all those who "like to build," states David Lorion, the town-planning manager of the commune of Saint-Pierre. The official ceremony has brought about a hundred of persons together, politicians and economic figures to go all over the strategic sites. The key players of the project (science and Technology Park, commune of Saint-Pierre, CBO and Semader) have not concealed their enthusiasm at what looks like an enormous challenge.
The south is dynamic, it swarms with ideas. It has grey matter. The science and technology park will offer this "plus," an establishment that will centralize all the means and necessary know-how to develop. A construction site has already started. It will take a few months before the first companies set up.
In the Urban Development Zone, 4 hectares are reserved by the science and technology park for innovative companies. These companies are particularly concerned with energy, health, biotechnology, civil engineering, environment, food processing and plant issues...They will find appropriate premises, scientific and technical experts, financial expert, public accountant, fiscal and political information on innovation, research department and laboratories...In short, it's the dream for an entrepreneur who is betting on the future. There are already lots of applications.
The Science and Technology Park in the South is not a conurbation of industries where noise and pollution regulates ones daily life. The park will ensure, quite the reverse, tranquility that is conducive to research. A convenient spot to foster, "the added intellectual value," Réunion Island. Besides, the criteria of the site installations will be draconian. The applicant must meet certain criteria, such as innovation or a dynamic exchange of information. In fact, the proximity with the IUT and the CHR, which will be known as CHU, but also the school of engineering and the medicine university which will be built here, should enable the different players to meet, exchange, communicate and interact with each other. These knowledge contribute in shaping and bringing out performance.
It is widely known that united we stand, divided we fall, strength through unity. A synergy should then be established between the companies, researchers, laboratories and organizations. It's a concerted work to move towards innovation and development. "The project of the Science and Technology Park is a sharing and complementary engine," summed up Richard Matorelle, President of the Science and Technology association in Réunion Island and Marie Noelle Le Nivet, director of the Science and Technology association in Réunion Island.
