One will certainly not expect to find a creperie in the heights of the Cirque of Salazie in Hell-Bourg. For 22 years, Mrs Le Gall prepares the pancake in Réunion Island. She moved to the cirque six years ago just to have a break.
It does not go unnoticed along the main street of the village. If you want to escape from the traditional curry, the Le Gall creperie is one of the best on the island. The owner is a true Brittany. Being the first one to open a creperie in Saint-Gilles, she has always prepared the pancake with passion and generosity. Quickly copied from but never matched. It's the true taste of pancakes as in her homeland, the Brest. From wheat pancake, to pancake but also salads and gratin, one'll definitely find something to satisfy ones hearty appetite. All this is available at a very cheap price, the menu is less than 10€.
From parsley and garlic sauce (wheat, cheese, whipping cream, garlic and parsley) to the "Doudou" (banana, chocolate and orange jam flambé pancake), it's out of question to forget the christophine, which is the emblem of the cirque. The "Ti chouchou" is a wheat pancake served with béchamel sauce, cheese, ham and christophine. All you need to satisfy your hunger if you are feeling peckish prior a hiking, from the islet to Vidot and to Piton d'Anchaing.
