Since she lives in Réunion Island, the painter and visual artist, Sylvie Gesbert de Linéa states: it's like a fog is lifted. Reunion Island is an infinite source of inspiration for her who knows well how to intermingle the light, transparency and colours.
One must consider everything when devising a work; the mounting, the pigments, but also reading, lots of reading to grasp the subject well. For the exhibition "Hellgirls," Sylvie Gesbert de Linéa worked with acrylic and Indian ink on different types of papers: the paper from Japan for its diaphanous transparency, the Chinese paper for its fragility and the German paper for its strength. All of this symbolizes woman, she explains. This is also why I choose this bright red to depict the passion. The urban woman is full of passions. Like Dante, she goes through emotional crisis, is ambitious, full of energy and everything whilst being very feminine. It's all that I wanted to highlight throughout my exhibition, whereof I favoured the calligraphic."

This reliable technique, Sylvie Gesbert de Linéa owes it to her very lengthy career path: "I have always painted," she states. "Every day I enrich myself from the people and I evolve."
The young artist who is proud to exhibit once a year in Réunion Island has also presents a few exhibitions abroad: notably in Mainland France, England, Spain, Belgium, Germany, and Canada and has started to link up with South Africa.
In any case, there is no need to take a flight to travel with Sylvie Gesbert de Linéa: the best trip that she promises us is within ourselves.
