Tété has always felt a bit cramped amongst the most popular French songs. Perhaps it's because of his West Indian and Senegalese origins (Tété means "guide" in Wolof).
Tété is a gifted melodist who nurtured himself on pop music. It's his love for words, tones along with their rhythms that make him one of the most gifted authors of his generation. After three albums, including the magnificent "A la faveur de l'automne" in 2004 and "Le Sacre des Lemmings" in 2006, Tété will release a new repertoire which will fly high among the cliffs of the Ravine. Prior to him, the Comorian Mounawar who has recently been awarded at the Indian Ocean Music would also host a show.
The tour of Tété in Réunion Island is directed by Le Kabardock in close collaboration with Le Séchoir.

Dobet Gnahoré exposes the plundering of the African continent, mocks at the practice of the polygamy ("And if the women start having several husbands, therefore what will these gentlemen think?" says the singer in a witty tone.) throughout her songs. She denounces the money-hungry men who remain deaf to the cries of nature, victims of their misguided ways. Dobet Gnahoré is outraged. Her way of singing, dancing, her athletic and powerful body, her attitudes along with her stage performance, she irresistibly makes us think of the "elder sister," the Beninese Angélique Kidjo, whom she gladly names in one her first references. Dobet Gnahoré confidently reaffirms the existence of a new generation of the dynamic African singers who are against the "afro-pessimism."

Is it still necessary to introduce the band Pat'Jaunes? The three Gonthier brothers, Michel, François, Bernard and Claudine Tarby are multitalented artists who have long formed part of the Réunionese musical heritage. Their different approach of music in blending the Sega with the rhythm, country, yesteryear ballad, comedy and even the polka have already won over many fans.
After the three albums, Youl, Ti Catoune and Larizé, their latest opus is not less than a contribution to the book: Ticoulitintin. The result was up to the expectations: a sweet or lively atmosphere that joyfully plunges both kids and parents within a fair share of humour and good spirit. The audience at the Plaine des Palmistes will be the first to listen to these new songs as well as the essentials one of the band: "Ti catoune," "Larizé," "Polka 27," "Mon pied goyavier," or yet "Polka Angelo." Let's get embarked on an exotic trip...

Four friends are getting together for the umpteenth time to write their play. Loss of inspiration. They will do their utmost to fulfill their contract and discover a website whereof the muses offer a strange home service. One by one, the characters change and transcend through the music.
If the songs of the programme are of varied repertoires ("l'air des bijoux" excerpt of Faust de Gounoud, "La bombe humaine" by Téléphone, "Résiste" by Michel Berger, "Mon Coeur, mon amour" by Anais, etc) we can refer to a creation, so much that the interpretation made by the cheery band is original. Solo or chorus, always a capaella, sometimes tinged with lyricism, the works become true small stories within a much sought after staging which is full of humour.

A cabaret in Saint-Gilles: Zénès Maloya This year to celebrate the 160th anniversary of the slavery abolition, the town of Saint-Gilles won't wait until the 20th December to beat the maloya drum in its theatre. The Chokas and ODC associations are pleased to present you the fifth edition of Zénès Maloya. It's a show where the Réunionese identity, the richness of its culture, a tribute to the ancestors from all ethnic groups will be featured, hence a maloya show will be held to celebrate the maloyas. But, it's also a unique evening beneath the stars in Saint-Gilles where a giant lantern will be lit by eight charge carriers of all the Indian Ocean's colours.
