The year 2008 is an important and full one for Salem Tradition. It’s been already 10 years since the maloya of Christine Salem echoes in ones hearts. And 10 years certainly needs to be celebrated !
After the concert held at the great Halle de Jeumon along with a large audience, the band of Salem tradition proposes a more intimist version at the Salle de Leconte de Lisle in Saint-Paul this weekend. This anniversary is a unique opportunity for Christine and her companions to reunite the artists as well as to mark the 10 years of adventure. Pictures, films and an exhibition undertaken by the young people of Chaudron and Camélias will be featured.

Tigra Winston Live is an exaggerated play on femininity and fame that will be held beneath the trees. Léonie is a jack of all trades, or almost worked in a theatre. She remains in the shadow and probably dreams of an ascension that will transform her into a legendary character. On this evening’s programme: being a glamorous singer like the type of “Marilyn,” “Tigra Winston” takes a long time to come on stage. Her pianist is waiting for her, the luminous circle of pursuit is looking for her. But, finds miss Léonie instead. The style of the play is gestural and burlesque at the same time. Altered objects, improbable performances and parodies describe the clown. She struggles in the heart of a musical nightmare. She will be followed by the maloya singer, son of Daniel Waro, Sami Waro and his band Lo Griyo.
