Drama

Intérieur Nuit

Intérieur Nuit (modern circus) in Saint-Denis

In close collaboration with Jacques Bertrand (lighting technician) and Christophe Sechet (composer and musician), Jean-Baptiste André is pleased to propose an innovative piece of work, on the dividing line between many artistic disciplines.
The artist makes use of body movements along with contortion, choreography and video to present a showpiece based on the concept of equilibrium and space.
The audience is led up to wonder about the relationship between time and space, inner and outer aspects and real and imaginary.

The circus arts link the dance with drama, video and electronic music to explore the body and the metamorphosis which occur. “Intérieur nuit” is more than a mere show, it’s a show that the audience should experience, a moment of intimacy and closeness to share.

Saturday 8th Fevruary at 08 00pm
Champ Fleuri Theatre in Saint-Denis
Ticket price: 20-14€

Exhibition

The exhibition of Patrick Manoro, yesteryear toys in Salazie!

Patrick Manoro Jouet Lontan

Being a tourist guide, Patrick Manoro is also an all-round artist, sometimes musician, sometimes singer and storyteller. With this exhibition, he aims at highlighting his skills as a visual artist, to plunge us back into childhood, and to relive these moments of happiness where time does not matter. In the past, he says, “our parents were very poor, and we needed to find something to play with!”

Through this exhibition, the artist wants to show about forty of “yesteryear toys” to parents and kids of today. It’ll be either the artist who will explain about the use of the toys or there’ll be short illustrative texts fixed on various boards! You can even play with a few of the toys as a case of toys will be available!
But the artist does not want to stop there! His aim: exhibits all across the island and shares some of his experience, which he poetically names the “Belle Époque”!

By the end of this exhibition, the artist anticipates to publish a book of about forty pages, which in addition to the presentation of the toys, includes anecdotes and memories of each visitor during the exhibition.

So, come and discover the exhibition of Patrick Manoro which will be held at the Tourist Office in Salazie:
