Refinement and spices are the keywords of La Bourdonnais restaurant. Located right in the heart of Saint-Denis, in a building dating from the East India Company, the La Bourdonnais welcomes its guests within an elegant setting that has wholly been renovated with antique furniture. The museum rooms have been converted into private lounge, air-conditioned verandah or yet, a garden shaded by the vine.
One'll find a metropolitan cuisine on the plates, season with a blend of Indian Ocean spices: ginger, chili and curcuma. Nevertheless, the specialty remains the seafood platters.
Thanks to its fishpond, the restaurant offers fresh seafood throughout the year. In any case, the menu delights the taste buds of the guests: two sisters, who came to celebrate a birthday, have ordered the famous seafood platter along with two champagne glasses and a tarte tatin. "It's fresh and delicious," they stated, at the end of the meal.
If in the evening, most of the clientele consists of people celebrating birthdays, friends parties and tourists, the restaurant especially welcomes business people at lunch, where the special option: quick lunch is available.
The goal, says the manager, Romain Mazille, is that the guest can have a quick but tasty and dainty lunch. Besides, a logo indicates the light meal in calories on the menu card. The aim is to have a light meal without altering the taste completely. We use a strict minimum of fat. And all the chutneys are being served seperately."
A new spot for the gourmets wishing to keep one's figure!
