It was out of question to forget about this event...After nearly a year of training at their centre, these ladies wanted to impress the guests through a lunch and a spectacular show put on by the riders of the club.
In the run-up to this day, the children had been preparing themselves for their first show, during their lessons. Thus, some parents took time off work in order to accompany their dear children to the rehearsals....and yet it's also a pleasure every time, as it's also an opportunity for the adults to get together in this magnificent setting.
Let‘s go through the décor: nestled in the midst of sugar cane fields at an altitude of over 600 metres above sea-level, the centre is an extraordinary place with a magnificent view stretching from the Pointe au Sel up to l'Hermitage. The Stella museum looks like a garden shed from up there ...At 10 30am, it was time to gather the kids together in order to start this memorable day. Assisted by a few friends, Corinne started the competition with some last-minute recommendations to the teenagers and the dressing, make up and grooming sessions before finally starting the show at around 11 30am with a small opening speech: "This lunch at the Cape Riding School is an opportunity for all the riders to show us the extent of their constantly progressing know-how. The show that is to be presented in eight parts will show the evolution of the rider, the pony and the horse as well as the relationship that develops between them over the years, from childhood up to maturity and from discovery to complicity." This show called "a 30 minutes discovery of horses," (although it will last more than an hour) will allow everyone, rider or not, to marvel at this union between man and horse.
