The city of Saint Denis is presenting the second edition of the "Saint-Denis Expos Photos" up to 12th April. The goal of this event is to share the work of the famous photographers with both amateurs and professionals audience.
In his exhibition, "Se raconteur que tout est illusion" held at the former Hotel de ville rue de Paris, the French photographer, Jean-Christian Boucart portrays a hotchpotch of the war in Iraq, the expression of exhausted men, prisoners of horrendous traffic jams, blurred images projected onto big screen and the sweetness of newlywed couples stilted in an eternal happiness. Being very different yet, the themes are filled with the same ideas: tension, clandestineness, secret, saturation and movement.
The second exhibition is entitled: "Mad in China... un regard sur Pékin avant les Jeux olympiques." It is held at the Espace Jeumon and is produced by the Tendance floue collective whereof12 photographers are featured. How does China really look like? The photographers are asking themselves this very question. In Beijing, where one says anything can happen, the shock was great. What emerges from this work is the power of the city and its perpetual motion. "We did not only understand Beijing," said the artists. We intensely experienced it." Interviews, conferences, workshops, screening and workshops are organised over these two exhibitions.
