L’Entre-Deux has a number of interesting tourist attractions, namely its “cases créoles” embellished with beautiful gardens and its hearty inhabitants. This is one of the reasons why more and more people come to live there. “Le pays d’en haut” has a particular interest and love for old houses. The inhabitants take good care of their homes, to such an extent that they do not appear to be as old as they really are. L’Entre-Deux is surrounded by rugged landscapes, gorges and ravines. It is an essential place to visit.

Le Dimitile is the best tourist attraction of l’Entre-Deux. Discover its steep valleys through different hiking tours, classified from moderate to very difficult.

Le Coteau-Sec

A two-hour long easy hike with viewpoints of Cilaos caldera and îlet Furcy.

Access : once on the CD 26, take the first road on your left before the municipal stadium, then turn left again onto impasse Roland Garros and follow the path along past the tennis courts. At the end of the path, follow the dirt track until you reach the second water tank.

Pont de la Liane

An easy hike during which you can pick and enjoy wild fruit, according to the season.

Access : from the town hall, follow the signs “Fond de la rivière” and “Bras de la plaine”.

The “cases créoles” tour

A guided tour organised by the tourist office for the last five years. It offers the opportunity to learn about Réunion Island’s history and to discover the typical “cases créole”, their architecture and their secrets.

The Gorges and the natural arch

A pleasant one and a half hour hike along the river ,with the possibility to stop off for a swim. If you are feeling energetic, you can walk for 6 or 7 hours to reach Grand-Bassin.

Access : follow directions to the Ravine des Citrons

Le sentier Ledoyen

A moderate hike which makes you discover the area of Bras-d’Antoine. Many native vegetal species, distinctive of the “semi-haute” region and a beautiful viewpoint of Bras de la Plaine and its numerous “îlets”.

Access : from the town centre, go towards le Dimitile. After the kiosque of the Ravine des Citrons, drive for 2 km. The departure point is indicated on the right hand side.

Tasting of locally coffee

At Fernand’s you will discover coffee roasting and taste freshly made coffee. Fee : 5€ per person. Every first Saturday of the month by prior arrangement at the tourist office.

Entre-Deux, Village Créole

15 Réunion Island villages belonging to 12 communes hold the « Village Créole » label. This label is a sign of authenticity, the sense of welcome and the respect for traditions and heritage.This label is not “static”: following a charter, all villages commit themselves to making regular progress regarding the different criteria.
