To see

Kelonia, sea turtle observatory

The Centre d'Etude et de Découverte des Tortues Marines opened on August 18, 2006. The ancient Ferme Corail was given a new lease of life thanks to this fully renovated museum.

Beaches

Having a swim in Saint-Leu is enjoyable and quite safe, provided one doesn’t move more than 100 metres away from the coast. Beyond that limit, it is essential to wear a mask, a snorkel and water-shoes or flippers in order to observe the fish and the coral reef, now sadly spoilt. Beware of the urchins and hold your stomach in if you don’t want to get hurt by the coral that nearly comes above the water surface.

Paragliding

Saint-Leu is the perfect spot for paragliding. Take off from the Colimaçons (800 m above sea level) and land on the beach (behind the Ferme Corail).
